Meet our Leadership

Beyond the Pews for Life Africa is ultimately led by Jesus Christ. The leadership team gives all honor, glory and praise to Christ as the founder of the organization.

A team of dedicated Christians from Africa and international countries form the board and Directorship of the organization. All our staff working with our children are vetted to make sure that they meet the requirements to work with children. The first requirement to work with us is that you must be a believer in Jesus Christ and you must have an up to date certificate of good conduct from relevant authority and Reference letters from your pastor and local authority.

Marcus Oor Wameyo

Chairman of The Board & President

Marcus Oor Wameyo works to strengthen BTPLA effort in improving the lives of children across Africa through improved health, education, and economic conditions. He brings over 15 years of experience in the non-profit sector and community development capacity as well as from fulltime Christian ministry. He is a mission driven leader, strategist, executive coach, and leading innovative working to build impact driven partnerships. He is passionate about helping others as it is the most rewarding type of work a person can have; and is thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of Beyond The Pews For Life Africa and work with such a fantastic team of humanitarians. Along with finding BTPLA in 2010, Mr. Marcus Oor Wameyo has devoted his career to ensuring that underserved children and widows have access to best practice interventions and cutting-edge solutions. He holds a BA in Bible and Theology from Anderson University in USA, another bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Belhaven University, and an MPA from Mt. Kenya University in Kenya.

Desmond Owuor Adet

Chief Operations Officer

Desmond Owuor Adet is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Beyond The Pews For Life Africa, responsible for ensuring the day-to-day operations are well-prepared to effectively execute the organization’s strategic plans. As a member of the Executive Team, Adet helps lead business transformation across the organization, facilitating collaboration and enhancing organizational effectiveness, both internally and externally. Throughout his career, Adet has actively contributed to local non-profits, serving in various capacities including President and Secretary on the board.

Silas Wandera Ojiambo

Board Member & Secretary

Silas Wndera Ojiambo is the President of Vision Media Africa. He is a community leader who has over 14 years in nonprofit work. He joined Beyond The Pews For Life Africa in 2020.

Ven. Paul Ochoo Obiero

Board Member & Treasurer

Rev. Paul Ochoo Obiero is a member of the Board of Directors at Beyond The Pews For Life Africa and has served as the treasurer since its inception. He also currently works as a Rector in the Anglican Church of Kenya.

Phylomena Chepkemboi Narotso

Board Member

Phylomena Chepkemboi Narotso is the Director of the Young Mothers Community. She is one of the main community leaders and maintains an emphasis on community outreach. He joined Beyond The Pews For Life Africa in 2019.

Penina Abiba Wauye

Penina Abiba Wauye works to strengthen Beyond The Pews For Life Africa effort in improving the lives of children across Africa through improved health, education, and economic conditions. She is a mission driven leader, strategist, executive coach, and leading innovative working to build impact driven partnerships.
